The Ascendants’ Vault
Hi everyone!
This week we’re very happy to announce our newest video – a gamplay trailer at last! This action-packed trailer teases the basics of Eden Rising’s core game loop. Give it a watch and then we’ll get into some details.
Our subtitle is “Unite. Explore. Defend.” Play with your friends, explore the unknown wilds, and then defend your base against tough enemies. Put simply, we have a classic tower defense loop with a key difference — instead of the currency to buy traps being handed to you at the beginning of each wave, you’ve got to forage for resources and craft your own traps – and fight some cool alien creatures, of course!
UNITE
At its core, Eden Rising is about having fun with your friends. Whether you’re the resident strategist of your group, the aggro-happy fighter, or the friend who just wants to wander around and pick flowers, there’s something for you to enjoy in Eden Rising. You can share all your resources, crafted armor and weapons, etc. with your tribe, as well as adjust the difficulty of encounters both in the open world and during sieges for your server.
EXPLORE
Exploring is a huge part of Eden Rising. There are currently 4 unique biomes and about 8km2 to roam with plenty more planned after Early Access. You can learn all about them here! There’s an entire alien world to discover, and it’s chock full of materials to collect, creatures to fight and hazards to overcome. Exploration is key to conquering Eden, and it’s where your tribe of friends will find the materials for your gear and upgrades.
DEFEND
Once you and your friends have upgraded your gear to your heart’s content, it’s time to start strategizing. Head back to base and lay down some nasty surprises for your enemies. The Crucible holds powerful upgrades for your tribe, but unfortunately, it needs to bring down its protective barriers to “reboot” and give you access. While these barriers are down, it’s up to you to defend it! Take note of the wave number, type, and number of creatures in each lane to form the best strategy and lay down traps and distribute your tribe as you see fit. Once you’ve won the siege, new technologies, base upgrades, and crafting recipes will unlock. Time to get back to exploring and strategizing…
